One of the brightest spots of the pandemic is that I was able to see both of my kids start building their own businesses—endeavors that are both going strong today.
Our family has always had its hands in the small business and self-employment world. We’ve had several investment properties as the kids have grown up, and even though I recently relaunched my business, Hoege Consulting & Coaching has been a part of my life for over eight years. It’s always been a part of our lives.
Boredom—and, let’s be honest, income—were the motivators for both Natalie and Tim Jr.’s businesses.
Natalie decided to start a car detailing business, Wauna Auto Detail. She also created a second LLC for Creating in Heels, a podcast media company she began to inspire the next generation of women.
Junior launched his landscaping business, T2 Four Seasons, in Spring 2020. He specializes in project-based work, including spring cleanups, for residential properties.
As much as I joke that my husband and I are “the unpaid interns” of both of these enterprises, I love how both my son and daughter did their research, identified a gap in the market, and think through every part of the experience, from marketing and sales to customer service and referrals.
We’re a family of LLCs. How cool is that? (Below are some photos of their hard work!)
