5 Strategies to Manage Change with Communication

Updated: Mar 3, 2023

If it's one thing we've learned about change, it's this: if it can be misunderstood, it will be.

That's why communication through your organization's change management process is critical. And, it's not just about how often you communicate—it's who communicates what, and who gets communicated to.

The best change management communication strategies include:

✔️Stakeholder identification. (Who is impacted by the change, and how are they impacted? It's all about the right message to the right people, not a blanket message to everyone.)

✔️Early, clear, and consistent messaging from executive sponsors

✔️Talking points. (These are always underestimated, but your front line managers who are supporting your staff and maintaining relationships with your clients, vendors, and referral sources will need these. Don't leave them out in the cold!)

✔️Never underestimating people. (If you don't communicate, it's guaranteed they'll resist. Thinking they "don't care" is a common mistake that can have some harsh consequences.)

✔️Depending on the company, they also include a great consultant who can help set everything above in motion. (You knew we were going to say it.)

Anything else we're leaving out? Let us know!
